Horseback Riding
Riding at La Hacienda
La Hacienda Lolol is located in the heart of the rural zone, 75 km (47 mi) from San Fernando and 32 km (20 mi) from Santa Cruz (Route I-50).
Horseback riding begins at 9:00 am and includes a tour through the beautiful scenery in the hills around the hacienda. A 2-hour ride leads to the large Hacienda Lolol Reservoir with a perimeter of 10 km (6 mi) and crystalline waters perfect for swimming and fishing. The site also includes the ruins of the house where engineers lived while building the reservoir and a 4-meter (13-foot) monument in honor of San Isidro.
Enjoy the beautiful scenery with a pisco sour or natural fruit juice before beginning the approximately 1.75 hour return trip at midday. Lunch is authentic typical Chilean fare served at the manor house with Colchagua Valley wine.
Another alternative is a two hour ride in the vicinity of Hacienda Lolol.
Horseback Riding at El Arrayan or Punta del Viento
Fundo El Arrayán is located in Palmilla, 18 km (11 mi) from Santa Cruz along Route I-50.
Ride purebred Chilean horses on trails overlooking the Colchagua Valley with its beautiful landscapes and immense vineyards accompanied by well-trained guides. Ride through lands long dedicated to growing, making and ageing local wines.
Rides are also available at Punta del Viento, also in Palmilla.

Horseback riding at Viña Viu Manent
Viña Viu Manent offers horseback tours of its “San Carlos de Cunaco” vineyards in Spanish, French, or English led by a riding instructor.
This tour is available for individuals or groups with a maximum of 6 participants.
Duration: 1 hour.
The ride begins in the stables of the "Viu Manent Polo and Riding Club", where by a bilingual guide greets visitors and invites them to ride gentle, well-trained horses. A panoramic view of the vineyards accompanies the riders as they learn about the development of the vines through the seasons and they visit one of Viña Viu Manent’s installations for sport riding and polo. The riders return through the vineyards to the Vineyard Café, where they enjoy a delicious cup "coffee break".
The tour ends in the Wine Shop or Emporium, where visitors will find fine crafts or visit the exhibition of antique harvesting and winemaking machinery in "La Llavería".

Trekking
Hiking at Viña Montes
Hike a botanic trail with more than 100 varieties of flora and a spectacular view of the Apalta Valley in Colchagua. Stop along the way at Divisadero Hill, developed with the aid of the Philippi Foundation, which supports the study and promotion of the Natural Sciences in Chile.
Beginning at 350 m (1,150 feet) above sea level, 150 meters (490 feet) above the vineyard floor, the hike is divided into two sections: the first reaches 650 m (2,130 ft) a.s.l. and the second continues on to the top of the mountain, approximately 1000 m (3,300 ft) high.
Hikers will observe several species of Mediterranean bushes such as litre, bollén, quillay, peumo, chagualillo, maitén, and patagua with sclerophile (evergreen) leaves and that adapt to months of drought every summer, and a second landscape of hualo or oak forests that are now considered in the “vulnerable conservation” category.
Reservations are required. Daily tours begin at 9:30 am and include a visit to the winery, the vineyard, and the trail with a bilingual guide.
